John G. Thomas
"Seems
like there's always something on the news about child molesters
and the internet - and I've got a 14 year old daughter who hops
online as soon as she gets through the front door after school."
After filtering through nearly a thousand screenplays,
Thomas spotted the script which would eventually become "Hamal_18."
"I know there are some things in this film that will upset a lot
of people. I understand how they feel and why they will be angry.
That's exactly why I made the film in the first place."
A graduate of the famed USC Film School, this is Thomas'
6th feature length film as producer/director after a string of 37
documentaries and shorts.
Thomas adds, "I hope people will be able to see past
their own anger and understand that this film has the potential
to do a lot of good - maybe even save some lives."
